I need help. how can i make more friends?

i moved here like 2 years ago or so? and when i was in 6th grade i had AMAZING frends and a very close bestfriend. over the summer..i lost all of them besides like 3. because they all became alcoholic, drug-addicts. then .. last year i had to make all new friends becuz i was in classes with NONE of my friends. i made about.. idk .. i guess i'll say 10 friends? going into 8th grade scars me..becuz i dont think i'll be on a team with my friends in school. cuz last year .. at lunch it was like .. i sat alone, at recess, i'd just either read, and do homeowrk i havent finished. i dont want that again this year. any advice? im no really that shy .. its just that i usually dont know what to say at times.. help ? ):

Always wear a big smile, say hello, show concern for other people, pay attention for opportunities to do something nice like loan a pencil, share your snack, or prevent something that could embarrass someone else. Speak up in class. Join social clubs of your interest. Pass out candies. Remember to be proud of yourself for picking good friends but try not to judge or narc. Say good things about what people do. Be confident. Wear bright colors. Ask for help when there's something someone can do easily for you. Ask questions that don't pry. Praise others. Remember their names and use them. Maintain respectful boundaries. Make sure you are clean and well-dressed. Don't be overly sensitive. Smile. Smile again and then smile some more. Discretely, let people overhear you saying good things to teachers about someone else, especially if it will get back to the person. Be trustworthy. Notice what you have in common and build on that. Notice what you don't have in common and try to learn more about it. Diversify.Seek friends in all kinds of groups. Make good eye contact. Tip off others when you can help them save face. It can be hard to get accepted into established clicks. Might do well to keep your eyes open for new kids or others who may be feeling left out and see if you strike it off to meet for breaks and lunch.

hhm make a myspace and people who sit next to you in class ask them do you have a myspace?

if they say yes then be like oh whats your URL

and add them and talk to them there

make plans to hang out OUT side of school

the best(less awkward) way to make friends is by making them in class be very talkative

and dont have too high expectations because as you get older a lot of kids are going to want to drink and do drugs if your 100% against it just be like i don't mind if you do it just dont ask me to

if there addicted to herion coke meth then thats really bad other stuff is bad too but not a death threat a lot of people like to expiriment
