i want to buy the venus and just switch it with my old phone, is there any way that i can buy the phone online and not have to pay for a new 2 yr contract?

No, if you purchase online you have to get a new contract. If you want to purchase the phone without a contract you can try at the store (although I will tell you they don't all sell them without a contract, it's kind of up to them) or try Ebay. You may be able to find it cheaper on Ebay.
