I need help identifying this bug I found in my laundry room so I can know how to get rid of it!?

Question

It is about 3/8" long, and had a fairly oval shaped body. They are dark brown to black. It's head wasn't particularly pointy, and it sort of blended in with the rest of the bug. I think the most helpful feature was that all of them had a single white spot in the lower center of their back. They seemed to like the carpet too, if that helps. Thank you so much for any help!!

i googled it and got this page maybe you want to look at it.

if you have no luck here, you can take a pic of it(like i did) and put it on here and i found out i had grubes.some one should be able to identifie it

Its a carpet beetle or carpet bug. The come in varying colours and some have spots- do a google image search to see some types.
