Its leaves are long and swoopy and tapered on the ends, kind of like an amaryllis but darker green and of a thinner material. Similar to a head of lettuce, there are big leaves on the outside and they spiral in towards the interior. Sort of like if you had a roll of paper and rolled it up tight, then cut leaves into it and pulled the center part upward. I think I've seen this kind of plant before, and it had a long thick stalk coming out the center with a red flower that looked like the top of an asparagus. The plant was neglected for awhile at my grandma's house, so the entire center of each stalk has dried up and died, but I don't know how to cut it out because the base is so deep in there. Does anybody know what kind of plant this is, and subsequently, how to cut it so that it can start growing again properly. Thank you!!!!
