I took a picture with my digital camera that I want to apply on a brochure that is gonna be printed. The problem is that the picture is mostly blue and when I convert it to CMYK it looks terrible!

It has to be converted to CMYK because it has to be printed. What do I do?

  1. RGB and CMYK have diffrent colour spaces and some colors wont match, CMYK was developed to show the color space of the printed media, if thats how it looks on screen then that how its going to print. You can use View > Gamut Warning and View > Proof Colors to show what areas are not in the CMYK color space, and using Crtl+L and Ctrl+U you may be able to shift the colors so that they all fit in the CMYK spectrum.

  2. Please keep in mind, you monitor may not be calibrated with photoshop, and if you printed it, it could still come out even a different color.
