my son got accepted to a baptist university to seek a career in ministry. He has filled out the FASFA but we have not heard anything about how much money he will be getting. He as tried out for loans but there has been no responses as of yet and school starts in three days. My question to anyone out there is where can i get the funds i need for my son. If you are wondering why i was not prepared for this but i was. until we had an unexpected death and the services were outrageous. I had enough for his first year but that is all gone. please help with any ideas.

thanks.

  1. If you or your son can not afford this private school, I suggest he find a cheaper one.  money isn't going to miraculously fall from the sky to pay for it.  the school will still want their money and if either one of you can't afford it this year, it isn't going to be any easier next year or the year after of the year after.  Your son needs to attend a community college for the first two years then transfer to this school when he and you are a bit more prepared for the cost of a private school.

Don't make the mistake my sister and brother in law did, they both went to a private christan school their first two years of college, and then after the funds ran out, they had to transfer to a community college because 1. it was cheaper and 2. most of the schools christian classes counted for JACK and 3. by the time they ALMOST were ready to graduate, the financial aid office cut their aid off because they had "attempted" too many hour for a community college.  Bad situation, now brother in law owes more for that private college and all he's qualified to be is a youth minister.  He's constantly working 2 jobs to pay off a degree he could have gotten much cheaper at a state school.
