Tami is planting an herb garden in the shape of a right triangle that is 2 feet wide and 3 feet long. What is the area of Tami's herb garden?

Can you please give me the formula i need to use?

I looked in my old math bookss that i kept and i can't seem to find it.

This isn't due until Friday but i'd really appreciate it if you would tell me the formula.

Thank you,

Crystal

  1. The formula is (a*b)/2... because it is half as much area as a rectangle (which would just be a*b.  So in this case (2*3)/2=3.  The answer is 3 sq ft.

  2. It's a right triangle, which means you need to use the Pythagorean theorem, A-squared plus B-squared = C-squared - 4 + 9 = C-squared.

It's also an Area problem, which means you multiply the sides.

Hope I helped! Good luck in your AP algebra class.
