I would like to do a family collage. So I need ideas and help with that. The couple was married in 1963. I also need a song that talks about the love between a couple and or family love. And any other ideas like on how to decorate and centerpiece ideas are welcomed.

  1. Yeah, I would put together a slideshow presentation.  You can put picture clips together and/or video clips that show the couple.   You can put this on a projection monitor at the party so everyone can see.    If you're not good at doing this kind of stuff, I'm sure someone in your family who's good with computers can help you out.  It's not too hard to figure out.

Some song ideas for background music are.

100 Years by Five for Fighting:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ULBA8pvn...

Crash into Me by Dave Matthews:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQ_Nf7yGx...

For decorations, you can posterboards with pictures of the couple when they were younger and baby pics of them or something.  Things like that, maybe.

Anyways, good luck with everything.  Best of luck to them!

  3. The 45th wedding anniversary is the sapphire anniversary. Blue also happens to be the color of faith and fidelity. Decorate in blue and ask people to wear blue.

Wedding anniversary parties are perfect times to reminisce and wax nostalgic. There's a game which is all about talking about the past called "Reminiscing" you may want to check out. This game is meant to get multiple generations talking.

Another game is "The Anniversary Game." This game is meant to see who knows the most about the couple.

Find out what foods your parents served at their wedding and serve them. Find out what flowers were in your mother's bouquet and use those flowers prominently in the centerpieces.

You could also feature music from 1963 or which feature the word "blue" in the title.

    "Blue" Songs:

    True Blue - Madonna

    Blue Velvet - Bobby Vinton

    Rhapsody in Blue - Gershwin

Devil with a Blue Dress - Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels

My Blue Heaven - Fats Domino

    Blue Suede Shoes - Elvis

    Blue Moon - The Marcels

    Blue Hawaii - Elvis

Crystal Blue Persuasion - Tommy Jones and the Shondells

    Songs about Family and Marriage:

You Never Can Tell - Chuck Berry

Love and Marriage - Frank Sinatra

Through the Years - Kenny Rogers

    In My Life - Beatles

What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong

We are Family - Sister Sledge

Lean on Me - Bill Withers

Grow Old with Me - John Lennon or Mary Chapin Carpenter

    Songs from 1963:

  4. A JourneyPrint is a great conversation piece at parties.  Go to www.journeyprints.com.  A JourneyPrint is an anniversary print that includes up to 85 personal memories such as when/where the couple met, when/where they got engaged/married, kids'/grandkids' names/birthdates, favorite restaurants, movies, songs, etc....  My husband cried when I gave him a JourneyPrint for our anniversary!
