During my 1st,2nd quarters, I was a very good student. But after that, my grades went skyfall. I couldn't pay attention, if I did I can't keep it in my head.(No I don't have the learning syndrome)

I just don't know what happened. I'm going for an honors diploma. Please, can anyone give me tips to stay focused, and learn during school? BTW im in high school, sophmore

  1. see the doc to make sure

  2. maybe you have ADD.

  3. im going in to 8th grade and i had this same problem last year. when your in class and you know your not-paying attinon. just think to your self i need to graduate with honors also in your brain think to your self that u are smart and you can do good. also dont worry about your apperance in school. if you always look at girls in class just look away and dont think about it. or try not to slack of with your friends.

  4. before it get worse you need to either go to the councelar in school or to your parents because it may just be you need a little attention, but are you a girl or a boy? cause it could be different reasons for this problem, also school is boring, ok, lots of people get bored with it but you just need to put it in your head that one day all of this learning will be important for you to get a good job, a house, cars, etc, without some kind of education, we can not get the better that life has to offer, so take a walk look at nature, go to the library, read a book, you will go back to do the right things once you have stopped worrie so much about it. good luck,

  5. The exact same thing happened to me before I found out I have ADD. I'm not trying to diagnose you or anything but have you ever considered that you might have it? It's nothing to be ashamed of. I'm actually glad I was diagnosed because then I knew how to fix the problem.

Even if you don't think you have ADD, it couldn't hurt to check with your doctor about it.

  6. Hi!

There are many reasons for this kind of behavior, but I'll give you some of the common reasons why you are acting like this.

    - personal hygiene

    - lack of sleep

    - poor diet and nutrition

    - your surroundings (for example, if you're doing your homework while watching TV or listening music, it might distract you)

    - your busy schedule?

    - the influences of your friends or peers

    - high school drama

    I hoped I helped!

  7. Could be one of several things or a combination of them.

    1. Could be stress or anxiety. Both can "block" your learning, resulting in symptoms similar to ADHD.

    2. The sophomore year courses take a "jump' in content difficulty. If you are in classes whose content is too advanced for you (i.e., you are missing prior content), little you are presented with will make sense because you lack a learning schema or prerequisite knowledge to attach it to.

    3. Could be fatigue, poor nutrition or a physical illness or ailment (low blood sugar or thyroid deficiency, for instance).Talk to your parents, teachers, counselors so they can help you determine the problem. You may need to drop back into a regular program or to address your stress/anxiety or health before you can be successful.
