I need help learning to dance! HELP!!!

I am planning on asking this girl to the homecoming dance at my school, but I have one problem...I don't know how to dance, can someone please help?

for fast songs:

just try to move naturally with the beat of the music. don't care too much about what others might think of the way you look while you're dancing. and if you see someone with a cool move, put your own spin on it and use it =)

for slow dancing:

i can't be of much help here, but put your arms around her waist and have her arms around your neck. dont get super close if you don't know her that well or it's ...... creepy =P so keep a good 6-12 inches between you. don't be afraid to lead and just flow with the music!

At my school they taught us how to dance in PE, but I don't know, I would just copy what other guys were doing...
