  1. Most cameras will reset or restore if batteries are removed for at least one minute.  Insert batteries again and restart the camera.  Remove extra memory to eliminate this as a possible camera problem.

The secret to making digital cameras work better is having good electrical contacts between the batteries and the camera.

Electrical contacts in the camera and on the batteries must be cleaned properly. Digital cameras are high drain devices.  Batteries may have a full charge, but will be viewed by the camera as low if electrical contacts are not really good. This is similar to the power required for starting a car.  If the battery contact is not good, inside lights may work, but the car will not start.

Check out the source link for more help.

  2. Okay since your display is 'REALLY BRIGHT', you probably need to adjust your Exposure Value.  Follow 2nd link for adjusting this value. Since I had to guess at a Cyber-Shot model, follow 1st link if the instructions do not apply to your specific camera.

  3. Try resetting the camera. Sony has a tutorial on how to reset their digital cams. It is for a different model, but should work for your camera as well.

The reset tutorial is under the Settings and Adjustments header.
