  1. Is it on the bottom of the cage?  Karen

  2. He is probably just going through a phase. Although it's never a bad idea to take him to a vet

  3. Is your parakeet alone? If so, you may want to consider getting him a friend.  Parakeets are very social animals and tend to want another bird with it...or at least a mirror ;)    It also helps to sometimes have a radio play in the background, for some extra background noise.

  4. You question doesn't make a lot of sense.  Can you please explain it a little better.

If he's letting you touch him without moving then there is nothing wrong with that.  That means he is beginning to trust you.

If you are trying to get him to step on to your finger, you have to teach him  how to do that.

  7. Sounds like this bird is sick. I would call and or take this bird to avian vet asap. Could be a million things going on from eggbound to diseases. keep him or her warm and make sure eating and drinking.

  8. Is the bird pooping normally?   Is it a hen bird who might be egg-bound?   You need to get it to a veterinarian, or at least to a breeder who knows a lot more about birds.   Constipation can be dealt with.   But get competent help, and good luck.   I travelled all over Canada and the USA with my parakeet happily perched on the rear view mirrow inside the car.

  9. its up to the bird its going through a phase

  10. its probably shedding

give him a few weeks then he'lll be back to normal lol

  11. Put a few treats on your palm and wait for him to climb up and get it. Otherwise if he doesn't then id take it slow by just feeding him with your fingers. That way he will start liking it that way and once you stop doing that and put it on your palm he'll want to get it and if that doesn't work than i don't know. Also if he doesn't move for about 3hours, you should take him to the vet. Hope this helps.

P.s. don't force him to do anything. If you grab him when he doesn't know how to Step-Up. Than that's a bad idea. He will lose your trust and trust is the first step to any animal.
