I need help on Jogging.?

Well I'm only 14 and I am overweight. I can't jog longer then 2 minutes without getting tired and my leg muscles sometimes hurt. I need tips on what exercise to do at home to strenghten my leg muscles and increase my stamina. Other then that, what should I eat to strenghten my muscles? Does Tuna Sandwhich work ? I really wish I can jog very long distance and one day, be a sprinter. Thanks.

  1. Starting to run can be a very hard thing to do.

    Since you say yo can't run longer than two minutes without getting tired, I suggest you do this.

    Walk 20-30 minutes every other day for 2 weeks. This will get your legs and lungs ready for running. Just walk, doesn't have to be fast, just walk.

    Then after that, on the 3rd week, run 1 minute, walk 2 minutes. And slowly built up until you can run 5 minutes and walk 1 minute. This should be about another week or so.

    If your leg muscles hurt, that is normal. Since you are just starting out, it will hurt because you're not use to it, so just stay with it.

    Remember to stretch. Like bend over and touch your toes and stuff, those types of stretchs. Also ice. If your shins hurt, or something ice them, that will help them recover quicker.

    Also for running the best rule to follow is 2/3 carbs 1/3 protein. Thats what you should be eating. So pasta with some meat sauce or something is very good for running and energy.
