ok i'm having a little trouble with this prblem.could you show me how to solve it?thank you!

x-(5-3x)=7x+4

  1. x-(5-3x)=7x+4

    get rid of the parentheses by multiplying out the negative sign (infront of the 5 by -1) so u get . . .

    x-5+3x=7x+4

    combine like terms . . .(get the x's on one side and the constants on the other)

    -5=7x+4-3x-x

    -5=7x+4-4x

    -5=3x+4

    -5-4=3x

    -9=3x

    solve for x (so divide by 3 to get x by itself)

    -9/3=3x/3

    -3=x
