Explain why a streamlined car generally will have better fuel economy than a boxy car with the same mass.

  2. So true! In NASCAR, it was a revolution to get car decals from 2mm to 1mm- saving that little bit of wind resistance. So you can see how important it is to have minimal wind resistance.

  3. The streamline design (called aerodynamics) allows the air through which the vehicle passes to slide over and around the vehicle instead of using energy to push it aside. The energy used to push the air away from a non-aerodynamic (boxy) vehicle can no longer be used to propel the vehicle and said vehicle therefore achieves a lower MPG (Miles Per Gallon) rating.
