  1. Hi there

There is so much to see in South America, I couldn't see all I wanted to on one trip!

If you like waterfalls, you have to go to Iguazu Argentina (the falls meet where it borders Paraguay and Brasil). If there's a full moon when you are there, they do special Moon Walks at night.

There are some pictures of Iguazu Falls here  at http://www.snapshotjourneys.com/iguazu.h...

I loved Chile, too - especially seeing the volcanoes in the south around Puerto Montt (though this week there is an erupting volcano south east of Puerto Montt -- quite a distance, and hopefully all calmed down by the time you get there :-) )

And if you are that far south, then consider going on to Ushuaia, just for the bragging rights to be at the End of the World, and to see ice floes.

I did get a chance to cross into Uruguay from Buenos Aires, and will definitely return to spend more time in Uruguay and Punta del Este.

    Have a fabulous trip!

  2. As far as Guatemala (which is in Central America) there are tons of places you can visit.  The most important and beautiful places are: Antigua Guatemala, Lake Atitlan, Cobán, Río Dulce, Tikal, etc. I suggest looking at wikitravel for more info.

  3. yes mexico isnt in south america...but some really cool places to see well i was born in chile and we have the Easter islands which are awesome...its really cool to go there....in Ecuador you should deffinatly go check out the Galapagos islands they have the biggest turtles and lizards in the world there....in argentina go to mar del plata...they have beautiful beaches over there....i dont know about the rest...iv only been to those three.....so yah good luck

  4. First, let's start by saying that Mexico and Guatemala aren't South America. The others are.

As far as land form goes, all the countries you mentioned are incredibly diverse and have many kinds of landscapes and climates.

I've only been to two of the countries you mentioned but I'm planning one seeing them all some day. I'll give you a few names of some of their highlights:

Mexico: Teotihuacan, Chichen Itza, Palenque. All ruins of ancient civilizations.

Guatemala: Antigua Ciudad de Guatemala, one of the most beautiful architectures you'll ever see.

Venezuela: beautiful white sand beaches especially Los Roques, Angel Falls (tallest falls in the world), Mount Roraima site of inspiration of Conan Doyle's Lost World.

Brazil: the Amazon rain forrest, Pantanal (wetlands full of wildlife), Rio de Janeiro one of the most exciting cities in the world.

Chile: Atacama Desert, beautiful mountain scenery.

Argentina: Buenos Aires a South American city with European flair, glaciers and gorgeous mountains and of course, Patagonia.
