I need help on how to get internet on my laptop (dell inspirion 1525)?

Okay so its sort of a long story but i'll make it short. I have a computer and my bro has a computer. For my 15th b-day i got a ruby red dell inspirion 1525. The internet that i have on my computer is optimum online (so does my bro) Internet connection is from the g-router and we bought this card so i could get internet on my other computer(not the laptop) So a family friend did the internet. The thing is the password or the security key is lost whenever i try to connect my laptop to the network a security key is needed. The family friend moved and we have no idea where he is..and no one )not even my stupid bro memorized or copied the code. So how can i get internet? sorry if its a little confusing but im not good with this kind of stuff.

Log in to the router (192.168.2.1) type in  the router's username and password (usually admin and admin but sometimes it's admin and leave the password blank)

Once logged in to the router you can reset your security password.

your router default password and login are usually on a little sticker on the bottom of your router....any questions feel free to mail me.

Once logged in (using your brother's computer, of course), you can *see* the password.

Then write it on a small piece of paper and tape it to the router cabinet (don't cover any of the air holes).
