  1. I had this problem. i Have been playing for a year but my team one silver at nationals. i was sick of being the only one who couldnt so i got my trampoline and stuck it on its side. and hit the ball into it every night. it works, though if you dont have a tramp just use a wall. it could be in your throw . try throwing just above your fingertips when you reach up.

  2. The entire speed of an effective serve is in the wrist. Every day do at least 6 to 10 reps of 20 wrist squeezing excersizes with a tennis ball

  3. Hey,

I've been playing volleyball for my 12th season now and i think i can help. what you need to do first is stand at a slight angle facing where you want the ball to go...then put your elbow up by your ear and throw the ball up and swing. Now what may be slowing you down is that you are adding a bunch of extra unessisary steps which is what i did for a long long time...just break the serve down into three steps.

                1) Get postitioned and ready to throw

                2) Concentrate and then throw the ball right in front of your right foot (your left foot should be out just slightly)

                3) Hit the ball and follow all the way through

This should help your serve and help you hit faster just remember keep it simple...to get more power you may also want to take a step.

    Hope i can help.

  4. well, I dont necessarily think you need to swing faster. You need to have your fingers spread apart and have a good contact. And if it doesnt go over the next rember to push up as you swing. that really helped me alot. hope you get better. :]

  5. I have the BEST thing for you.  I had the same problem, but then I saw this girl serving one day.  My problem was that I couldn't get my power into the serve, or my whole body into it.  What you do, is you stand sideways, with your feet together.  You hold the ball out in front of you, where it usually is.  So, you are sideways with your head turned, and the ball in your hand.  Do everything else as normal.  What this does, is when you throw it up to serve, you are forced to turn your whole body and hit it.  This will automatically put your arm in the exact spot it is suppose to be in, and you will have a lot of force in your serve.  The first time I tried this, it worked PERFECTLY. I will be willing to show you pictures of how to do it, infact, I could have them to you in a matter of minutes.  This is perfect, and it would work with anyone.  Make sure, though, when you serve, you step out with your front foot when you follow through.  Good luck, and message me if you want the pictures or more advice!

  6. your coach is wrong

    DONT SWING FASTER!

    (say your a righty)

put the ball in your left hand right had behind your head, shoulder up, throw the ball up in front of your right hand. and make sure you get a good hit.

once you get the hang of it speed up your swing and eventually snap down on the ball and you will get a perfect serve.

  7. I have been playing for 8 years and ive just started my jumpserve. My advice is start serving close to the net like at the ten foot line and work your way back. Hit against the wall... and do some arm exercises. Swinging faster does help. Get your arm use to hitting harder and faster:)

  8. Well the trick is not to swing faster it is to get your timing.  Sing a little song or make something up that will help you with your timing

  9. It could help if you do a shorter toss, and not such a high toss, because then it takes forever for the ball to come down. The serve and toss should all be in like one fast movement. Like a "snap". It should be smooth. Also make sure that your shoulders are positioned straight and forward. (your feet too)

    good luck=]

  10. just hit it as hard as u can. i had a really good underhand but my coach told me to start using my overhand. a trick would be to hit the volleyball with your plam because it is a hard part of your hand and your fingers dont really help it go very far. it works

  11. well, here are some steps:

    1st: put your feet together.

2nd: put your right foot forward and then:

3rd:  put out your left hand(flat andput the ball on it) and:

4th bring your right hand forward aim for the ball and hit it on your wrist. it's hard to explain on the computer! (keep practicing until you aced it and do that fast!)
