1. Make sure your right hip is higher than your left hip (if you're spinning on your left foot. if you're spinning on your right, keep your left hip higher. ), that way your weight will be on your left hip, centering you. Also, make sure you foot pointed and turned out. Then bring your foot to your knee and slowly push the heel down to your spinning foot. And while doing that, make sure your hands are pulling in, too!

But most importantly, practice practice practice! Never give up, because ice skating is about determination and not giving up.

    Best of luck(:

  2. Balance on and off ice on one foot, to get the feel. Make sure your core is tight, not loosey-goosey. Also try doing your one-foot spin, to get a good balance. Hope this helps you as much as it did me! (I can do a scratch spin now!) Best of luck!

  3. Practice going through the motions/positions of the spin off ice and on the ice without spinning. When you go for the spin, make sure you keep your core tight and stay on the right part of your blade.
