  2. rachel c   i have been learning a lot today about british politics and politicians and my eyes are wide open right now.  why did tony blair et all introduce a 100-yr moratorium on documents pertinent to such things as the dunblane massacre?   suggestions are that there are very high positioned gov members, judges, etc etc who are highly suspect in terms of paedophilia.   tammy hamilton who slaughtered those children and their teacher in their class, was under suspicion more than 20 yrs before this atrocity for running a boys club and having guns.   he had a personal testimony from someone who is now a high power EU exec about his goodness and right to have gun licence, very recently before he went mad in dunblane.   parents and those grieving have been told by officialdom, dont read the documentation re the trial, focus on bringing in a policy of banning guns in UK..... blair, where the bloomin hek are you now,  brown, foulkes, mendelshon, shall i go on.   do you know for example that mendelson lives in belgium and has official approval for his "wife" there

  3. Contribute to the prevention and management of abusive and aggressive behaviour

Introduction to managing with challenging behaviour

Contribute to preventing abusive and aggressive behaviour

In order to be able to take appropriate action to prevent triggers to abusive or aggressive behaviour occurring and to enable individuals to find alternative ways of expressing their feelings we need to acknowledge reasons standing behind.

There are several reasons why people challenge:

 health: There are some case when in the background of the challenging

behaviour there is a special medical condition

like epilepsy: when the ‘i’ can feel

 problems with medications: side effects of medication, or new medication is applied

 To resolve communication difficulties appropriate way of communication is needed by paying more attention on how to express ourselves and also what the individual wants to express while using non verbal communication. e.g. facials and gestures

 Social interaction is an essential social need of each individual: and if the one is lack or short of skills to communicate and express ones needs and whishes can easily experience the feeling of being ignored or excluded from the interaction between the others and it can trigger the person to attention seeking behaviour. Attention must be given to them and the staff must encourage them to make interaction by using an appropriate way of communication which also can be a special aid like a keyboard etc.

     boredom

     lack of choice

     other people

 the environment: Change of weather can cause mood swings.

     family and personal problems

     lack of choice

 not having needs met (see basic needs described by Maslow)

The list of reasons are not complete can be other causes.

To keep an open mind and explore possibilities are required instantly.

  4. I did my NVQ over a year ago - cant remember exactly what i put but heres a few ideas

    - Environment - Is the area too loud for the person, does the environment or lighting make it difficult for them to communicate - leading to them becoming frustrated?

    - Any situation can trigger challenging behaviour - a disagreement - change of activity etc

If a person is moved from a situation or room they are comfortable in

    Hope this helps.
