My friends are planning a cruise in January. They are thinking about going through Carnival Cruise lines and going on the ship INSPIRATION. It's a 4 day cruise to Cozumel, Mexico. Have you been on it and can you tell me if it's a good cruise ship and will I have a fun time on it?

  2. carnival is an ok cruise line...there is mostly alchololics, and drunk people 24/7 on any carnival ship...there were many people overboard because they were drunk....carnvial ships are known as the party ships...but if thats what u like to do, then canrvial is right for you....good luck and have a great time = ]

  3. depends on what you like but I personally don't like being stuck on a ship and not being able to get in my truck and go if I want but my wife really enjoyed it. If you like to gamble that will give you something to do when there are no shows going on. I also went in February and we had bad weather only one day that we could get out and get some sun so that did not help any.

  4. I have not been on the Inspiration but I have been on the Elation (as well as four other Carnival ships) and I have been to Cozumel. If you are 20 somethings, and I assume you are, you will have a great time on a Carnival Cruise. There is a lot to see and do in Cozumel from the Party Boats to the Mayan ruins to Snorkeling to para-sailing. Just remember if you visit Charlies someone has to stay sober enough to get back to the ship on time or they will leave without you. While at sea  there is also plenty to do. Just read the newsletter that explains the on board activities and go out and do them. Be sure to eat at least one meal in the dining room so you don't miss out on the great food they serve there, but up on the Lido deck is where most of the action is as they will have live music and entertainment for you to enjoy. At night there a show in the main lounge and a wide variety of clubs to check out. And don't be shy about talking to the cruise director or any of his/her assistants as they will be able to tell you everything that is happening on the ship. (It is their job to see you enjoy your cruise so they will do their best to see you have a good time) Cruising is an inexpensive way to have a great vacation. One last thing, in January 2008 new passport rules go into effect so you will need a passport. Do yourself a favor and apply in the near future so you don't get stuck in the last minute rush. Passports or also not cheap, cost will be over $100.

  5. Carnival is run of the mill as a cruise ship.  Try Royal Caribbean or Princess.  A bit more expensive but much better all around.

  6. I have never been on this ship, but I do like Carnival ships. I have been on 6, and have had lots of fun. I have been to Cozumel several times, and had a good time. You should have fun. Go to Carnival's website to checkout what there is to do on the ship and in Cozumel.

  7. I have been on this ship and to Cozumel, it was great, I would book this ship again!

you will have a great time, the staff are friendly and are ready to spoil you every chance they get!  the food is awesome, highest quality, the dinning room is the best!  If you get to pick you room go for the back of the ship, and if you get the dinning room with Gorge the Greek you will never see dinning as boring he really make the dining special.

    have fun we did!

  8. The Inspiration is a great ship. Carnival has a reputation of being party central. It has been my experience that any line has more partiers on the shorter cruises. My recomendation is that you try for as long a cruise as you can afford. If you can be flexible on your sailing dates your can save enough to get a 7 day for the price of a 5 day.

  9. I have gone two Januarys in a row on Carnival's Liberty for 6 nights Freeport, Costa Maya and Grand Caymen. The price is low, the Liberty is elegant and u get more bang for your buck.

  10. I was on the Imagination to Mexico & Key West last winter... LOVED every min of it!

  11. Well, I have never been on the Inspiration.  Several years ago I sailed through Carnival on the Celebration and Cozumel was one of our stops, we went on the 7 days cruise.  I can tell you one thing 4days is not enough because 7 days wasn't.  I loved it so much, I went again last summer on the Miracle.  If the Inspiration is half as nice as these two ships, you will have a great time.  I really enjoyed myself and can't wait to go again.  I wish I could go every year.  I just love to Cruise it is the best!  I really think you will enjoy yourself.  Have a great time!

  12. I love the Inspiration.  I went on it last year, and had a great time.  Didn't see anyone drunk or obnoxious, despite what some people will tell you.  In fact, Royal Caribbean has as much trouble with people drinking and "falling" overboard as Carnival does.  The food and service were awesome.  It is going to be refurbished in Sept, and they are going to test a rotisserie on the Lido deck from what I have read.  As long as you don't mind being on a ship full of people who are having fun on their vacation, then you should have a great time.

I would hate to go on a vacation where everyone was so stuffy and uptight that they could not have any fun.  (And we don't drink or gamble).
