  1. Order of operations:

    1 - parentheses

    2 - multiplication and/or division (in order as they appear)

    3 - addition and/or subtraction (in order as they appear)

    For your 1st problem, you'd start with the 6(6) then proceed from left to right -> 6(6) = 36 -> 36/2 = 18 -> 18 x 9 = 162

    2nd problem, you start with what's in parentheses -> 6/2 = 3 -> 3 x 9 = 27 -> 6(27) = 162

  2. Well from the first i for 36 (divided by) 18 which is 2

    And for the second i got 6 (multiplied by) 27 which is 162

    Then again, mine may be off as well

    Good luck, if all else fails leave it and ask your teacher to help you :)

    xx

  3. I got 162 for the first one and for the second one I got 162. I used the PEMDAS thing.

    Parenthesis

    Exponents

    Multiplication

    Division

    Addition

    Subtraction

    That is the order of operations that I learned like 2-3 years ago.

  4. thats because.

    FIRST QUESTION:

    6(6) first. = 36 divided by 2 would be 13 TIMES 9 is 162

    SECOND QUESTION:

    Parenthesis  ALWAYS first. (brackets are before them though.) so 6 divided by 2 is 3 times 9 is 27. times 6 is 162

    1. =162

    2. =162

  5. both answers are 162:)

  6. 6(6) -2x9

    would be (6 X 6) divided by (2x9) so 36 divided by 18 which is  2.....

    6(6-2x9)

    would be 2 x 9 equals 18 then divide it by 6 equals 3 then x 6 would be 18.
