In the schoolyard, in the shuttle, and later at Battle

School, Ender kills in self-defense. Later in the story, a

colonel comments that “Ender isn’t a killer. He just

wins—thoroughly.” Is this a sufficient explanation for why

Ender hurts people? Why doesn’t Ender turn to others for

help? Do you think Ender is a killer? Why or why not?

  1. The teacher who wrote these questions that you are trying to pimp off to us should pick up the book and give it a good, thorough reading.  Ender did not kill the kid on the shuttle-he merely broke his arm (and accidentally at that--he did not take the lessened gravity into consideration).  He only killed Stilson and Bonzo.

  2. Ender isn't a killer in the sense that he is blood thirsty, he is a killer in the sense that he doesn't show restraint or weakness when challenged. He does it almost without thinking and doesn't always outright now that he killed.

Is he a bad person? No - should he be in prison? Yes.

  3. The guy approached ender first and wanted to fight. Ender only did i in self defense. But he also did it naked so he is not a killer. It was self defense.
