  1. Note that [(a^i)(b^j)]^n=a^in*b^jn is the distributive law for exponent.

sqrt(ab)=(ab)^1/2. In your problems it applies, for example:

    4. sqrt(8x^2y^6)=

    (8x^2y^6)^1/2=

    (8^1/2)[(x^2)^1/2][(y^6)^1/2]=

    2(2^1/2)x(y^3)

So,you may complete your home work yourself.

  2. All you need to know is sqrt(a*b)=sqrt(a) * sqrt(b)

I'll do the first one. If you understand, you can do the rest.

    sqrt(25x^2 * y)

    sqrt(25x^2) * sqrt(y)

    5x * sqrt(y) [since (5x)^2 = 25x^2]

  3. sqrt(25x^2y) = sqrt(5 * 5 * x * x * y) = 5x sqrt(y)

    sqrt(x^4) = sqrt(x * x * x * x) = sqrt(x^2 * x^2)= x^2

    sqrt(27) = sqrt(9 * 3) = 3 sqrt(3)

    sqrt(8x^2y^6) = sqrt(4 * 2 * x * x * y^3 * y^3) = 2xy^3 sqrt(2)

    sqrt12*sqrt6 = sqrt(72) = sqrt(36 * 2) = 6 sqrt(2)

  4. hi Ally, here..

    i use square root sign=#

    1.  5x#y

    2.  x^2

    3.  #27=#(9x3)=#9 x #3 = 3 x #3 = 3#3

    4. 2#2 x y^3

    5. 2#3 x 4 = 8#3

    done..see ya.
