  1. you need to separate the 2 areas into the triangular part, and the "pie" -piece

    we know height is 8 meters.

    so volume of anything is base * height...

    area for a circle is   pi* r^2      pi = 3.1415....

                   radius = 4

    (triangle)

    Base:   Area of triangle = 1/2 base * height

                 A =  1/2 (4)  (7)      =   14

             so volume = base * height  =  14 (8) = 112

    (pie piece)

    base:     Area of pie piece = 3.1415*4^2 = 50.24     BUT that's the whole area,  you only want a portion of it that's equal to 60 degree.  Which is just 1/6 of a circle (360)   so you have 50.24*(1/6) = 8.3733333

    then you take the 8.37333 and multiply it by the height (8m)  and you'll get 66.9866666666

    then for the total area of the whole thing, you add the 2 volumes that you've got:       66.98666666  +   112

    equals:     178.98666666667   units^3

    good luck
