I need help on writing a poem?

a satire poem

in couplet form and iambic pentameter

i want to write it about hollywood, like making fun of all those celebrities.

my first two lines so far are:

"on the western side there is a place

where all that matters is your face"

...

but i don't know where else to go with this

Young hopefuls from the heartland come.

Their chances of success quite glum.

they meet a gent who'll show the way

and take at least tenth their pay.

You have the "couplet" down but not the "pentameter" ( it seems to me you have only 4 meters per line instead of 5)  Anyway start with words that describe celebrities and rhyme them.  Then add enough words to make correct sense of the poem.  For example,  could,should,or would/Hollywood; fame/shame; and so on.
