I own a gateway gt6525E and it runs on

Intel Pentium Dual Core E2140 @ 1.60 Ghz.

I have a Intel D945GCCRG1 mother board.

I can't seem to overclock it I read guides but nothing is happening.

  1. Thats because most Intel boards are  designed not to be overclocked, especially ones from Gateway for Dell as they are fixed

  2. Even if you could manage to get into your gateways bios

(which it usually doesn't let you do)

you wouldn't get any real benefits from overclocking except

noticing a difference in your 3dmark score, and even then it wouldn't be by much....

    overclocking is seriously overhyped

    it has little positive effect

    but can damage your processor

    decrease your processor life

and make your system incredibly unstable (lots of crashes)

I used to overclock, my advice is forget about it

  3. You cant. GAteway has locked the BIOS so that you can't overclock the CPU unless you have a hacked BIOS

Its really NOT reccomended to overclock your computer but if you want to give something a try, you can try this website:
