I have old white furniture that I want to paint black.

I figured I should use spray paint but I really don't know.

Do I use spray paint and a primer at the end and where do I buy spray paint at?

Thank all of you so much in advance.

:)

  1. Clean very well with TSP mixed with water, available at all hardware stores, let dry overnight, lightly sand, then paint

acrylic enamel, or latex enamel for the toughest finish.

    hope that helps.

  2. Primer is for before you paint.  If the white paint is in good condition (not peeling or badly scratched), you might be ok just painting over it.  Personally, I think that using bucket paint is better, but some would disagree with me.  If the paint is rough, then you should sand it off, prime it, then paint the black on.

    =)
