I need help picking an audition song?

I might be auditioning for art school in the vocal category. I need help picking a song. I have a extremely strong chest voice and my head voice is soft and sweet sounding. Should i show off the strength in my voice or the range of my voice?

....If you're a guy go for a powerful song with much emotion such as "One Song Glory" from Rent, If you're a girl go for something a little softer but still with emotion

Find one that does both. I'm a total music addict so if you need help finding a song, jes lemme know. But I think the best thing 4 u would b 2 pick a song you like, and make it your own. Show off ur skills. That's MUCH more impressive than just copying off some else's talent.

when auditioning, you may want to sing a broadway song. and if thats the case, i will be a h u g e help to you! however, you did not clarify if you were a boy or a girl. i dont know much boy music, but here's some girl stuff:

*So much better- legally blonde the musical [really can show off those pipes! great song!]

*popular- wicked [funny and a great song all together]

*defying gravity- wicked [all i can say... AMAZING]

*part of your world- the little mermaid [broadway/movie. very pretty song!]

If you have a nice, powerful voice, then go for My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dione. What a beautiful song that brings back so many memories. Just be very careful about your choice and practice hard. One mistake might just make a huge difference!!
