I need help please..ms antivirus?

theres something that keeps popping up saying i have ms antivirus and it doesent do anything i cant view all programs on my start menu it says virus alert where the time is supposed to be everything is gone i cant run or do anything i cant download anything at all and idk what to do! somebody please please help me and i dont have any protection, and i have a windows xp dell dimension 2400 if that makes a difference

Try using CTRL+ALT+DELETE and removing it from your "processes", or looking up any things with ".exe" that you're not sure of.

Also, try downloading the free AVG Anti-spyware. ;D It works great, for me, at least.

I had a similar problem, download a little program called combofix - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix...   , this should get rid of it. Good luck
