  1. look for a greeting card that might have the animal you desire on it, or maybe print one on the computer and list, like

1,2,3,4 everything you think your pet deserves when you care for it. Examples. It's name, what food it needs, how often you clean it's home, and what makes you a excellant foster parent to this animal. Then give it to your parents just after dinner one night. See how responsive that might make them to your idea for a pet.

  2. keep your room really clean so that they see your responsible to look after your own space.

vacuum the house when you have time

toshow you can take care of everything

basically wash dishes, offer to do things, and chores .

    And also

print out a buncha pictures of that animal

and put it in your walls and on your doors

so they know your commited to getting it :]

  3. You can show your parents how responsible you are by doing the things you know you're suppose to without them having to tell you.  Your chores, homework, or anything else they normally want you to do.  Wait a while and then ask them again.  Explain to them that you will take having a rodent as a serious responsibility.  Research the things you will have to know and do (how often to clean the cage, what kind of food, things like that) and come up with ways you can earn money to buy the things you'll need.  Make sure you don't whine, talk to them like a responsible person would.  Hopefully this helps. : )

  4. Explain to them how much you know about the animal, in a conversation without begging, just a mature conversation... if they still say no, take over more chores than usual, if you have any smaller siblings, offer to babysit them when your parents go out for a night, and if you have any pets, take extra good care of them, and tell your parents you'll pay for the pet and all its needs.
