I need help potty training my 4 yr. old developmentally delayed son?

O'kay, my little boy who just turned 4 years old June 30th still isn't potty trained..I have tried a few months ago and he went twice (pee) then nothing else happend...He is developmentally delayed in all areas..But is doing good with everything else but the potty training..Anyone know of anything I can do ??? any help at all would be aswume...

    Evertime he uses the potty reward him.

    Make a very big deal out of any successes.

    Offer him some "Big Boy" undies if he can keep dry...shop with him and let him pick them out.

    He will want to keep them dry if he had invested time in what you are doing!

  2. well every time he goes potty give him a sticker. when hes trained give him a certificate or something.

  3. Make a game out of it, can you pee on the sticker?

    One of my twins has global developmental delay also and it is a long hard road, but sticker charts are helpful for managing the issue. Just keep in mind that it takes a while sometimes and the child is not deliberatley peeing in their pants!!

    Praise when you can and don not get frought about the accidents, eventually it gets better.
