I have a 2001 dodge stratus with a stock sound system in it. i dont have much money right now but i do have a mean RCA surround sound in my bedroom. I have played around with regular house speakers and just twisted them into the rear speakers to have in my trunk for when i play basketball i can take them out and blast.

but i had to stop that because the police kept showing up because people were complaining about the noise.

anyways now all i want to do is hook my home sub up to my car to get more bass.

when i hook it up to my rear speakers they start cutting in and out and not much bass comes out.

my friend told me i might need an amp.

lately i have been looking at wal-mart and i found a nice little set up

it comes with two subs and two "tweeters?" if thats right.

the set is already in a box ready to be hooked up

its 300 watts and they would fit in my trunk perfect.

i was thinking about getting two and stacking them on top of each other.

will i need an amp if i get these?

  1. thats just a dumb ideal next your want to put your stove, and washer and dryer in your car come on guy really dont do that your just looking for trouble or a possible fire

  2. "you cant use a home sub in a car", is the biggest load of c**p....

You CAN but the volume will be half.

You also have to be careful when connecting ANY other speakers to existing speakers as it changes the ohm load to the head unit. This can cause damage if not done right. Seek a pro to help you.

  3. you cant use a home sub in a car, they are usually 8 ohms were most car subs and amps are below 4 ohms
