So next year I will be a freshman in college and I am elligible for grants but the only way to recieve those grants is if I submit current tax information to my college. My dad owns his business so he always files for an extension so he can postpone how long it takes to file. I need to submit this new tax information by the end of august and he has known this all summer but I am really worried he won't file in time. How do I convince him to file so I can get the large amount of grants I am elligible for??? Help!!!!!!

  1. Tell him every day...my dad was the same way...and my financial aid office would act as tho I was to blame...we eventually got it in but it was too late for the grant and scholarship deadline..I made sure this year that we didnt make thta mistake. Tell your dad that if he wants to pay for your education then by all means dont turn in taxes but if he wants to support your decision to go to college and dosent want to pay then GET THOSE TAXES DONE..bug him everyday.

  2. tell him that if he doesn't file immediately, he will have to pay the tuition out of pocket
