  1. I would assume that you are right-handed.

1> Position yourself so that your weight is more on your right foot.

2> "Lock up" your feet so that you cannot move your right foot, and only move your left foot forward.

3> Move your left foot half step forward (or make no move) while tossing the ball (with no spin).

4> The ball should be tossed above your reach level but not too high. At the same time, drag your right hand over your right shoulder and have your palm (no fist) next to your ear, with elbow at the same height. Your body should now face the right side, and should be kept upright (unless you are really short and you want to serve "up").

5> Swing your right arm, make contact at the center back of the ball with your open-palm. You may make the contact at a lower spot on the ball, and make a "sky serve". Make sure that your arm is straight and your palm is open.

6> Follow thru with your swinging-arm, while/after making contact with the ball, your weight should move over to your left foot.

7> Run to your "base" position and get ready for defense.

  2. Jump Serve

1:Position yourself 3 long strides from the end line

2:Take one long step forward with your left leg

3:During your second step toss the ball high and in front of you. You should toss the ball high enough so that you can hit the ball after your third step

4:Take your third step and then plant your right foot behind your left and jump

5:Make contact with the ball on its decent and hit the top-center of the ball

6:Allow yourself to land on or over the end line with your momentum moving you straight towards the net

    Tips:

Focus on balance. If you find yourself falling on your landing or landing off the right then you are overthrowing the ball

If you are landing short of the line you are under tossing the ball. The most important thing in this serve is timing

Try tossing the ball with backspin to get the desired top spin at contact

The best way to learn is try a one step approach, then two

and finally three steps. This will help you focus on your toss

  3. I use to not be able to serve overhand well but I went to a volleyball camp and the coach told me to have an open hand with your fingers spread apart. Next your hand needs to be tight and not loosey goosey. Then take the ball in your left hand if you are right handed and hold it straight out in front of your chest then draw your right hand back with your fingers open. Then you throw the ball up in the air, step with your left foot and swing your arm all the way through hitting the ball. If you are left handed then  do the same steps but switch your hands and feet. It worked for me and I hope it will work for you!

  4. when you have the ball, and you are right handed, put it in your left hand. put you r feet slightly apart and left foot in front. toss the ball slightly above your head, but make sure you can extend you arm all the way up. when you hit the ball make sure you follow through your arm swing all the way down to your hips. drag your right foot and don't ben over too much.

ps. NEVER USE YOUR FIST! open handed all the time and hit the ball with the palm of your hand
