  1. Go here to download the full explanation and schematic of a popular remote control module:-

This one uses radio waves for garage doors and so forth.

You could just buy one, or build your own based on the same general principles. I would recommend buying one and making a few measurements on it before designing your own.

You would need an electrical laboratory plus the knowledge to use it to do this, of course. If you have the grades, you can learn to becone an electrical engineer in as few as 4 years.

  2. You need a wave transmitter and a wave receiver.  The "waves" can be any of several types.  You can use radio waves or light waves or sound waves.

The transmitter sends a signal to the receiver and the receiver decodes the information sent and does something - like accelerating a motor or turning a wheel.

A simple setup could involve a flashlight and a solar cell.  Put the solar cell on a small electric car and shine the flashlight at the solar cell.  You may have to use several solar cells in either series (more voltage) or in parallel (more current).

In this case the receiver is also the power source for the car.  Usually the receiver has a separate battery and the sent signal controls the application of the batteries power to do something.  In that case the solar cell would receive the light from the transmitter (the flashlight) and the solar cell would send its signal to an amplifier that would control the application of the battery to the cars motor.  It gets real complicated real fast.
