  1. 14x-28-10+3x=17x-38

  2. 7(2x - 4) - (10 - 3x)

    7*2x - 4*7 - 1*10 - 1*-3x

    14x - 28 - 10 + 3x

    17x - 38 <===ANSWER

  3. 7(2x-4) - ( 10-3x)  Distribute the 7 in the first parenthesis, then subtract the second quantity

    7(2x) - 7(4) - 10 + 3x

    14x - 28 - 10 + 3x  ....Add like terms

    14x + 3x - 28 - 10

    17x - 38 <== Solution

    Good luck to you !!

  4. multiply out and combine.

    7(2x-4) - ( 10-3x)

    14x - 28 - 10 + 3x

    17x - 38

    .

  5. 14x-28-10+3x

    17x-38

  6. use the distributive property on the first term:

    7*2x - 7*4 - (10-3x)

    14x - 28 - (10 - 3X)

    now add the additive inverse of what's left in parens, since you're subtracting:

    14x - 28 - 10 +3x

    combine like terms

    14x + 3x - 28 -10

    17x -38

    done!
