I need help starting off my story.?

Question

It's in 3rd person point of view, but there are 3 main characters that are kids in high school already know about their powers.(except for one who almost kills someone.) Then they find other people who has powers that are willing to hurt or help people. This is my first story so I'm just having a hard time.

Use "Where were you last night?"  Build from there.  My writing teacher advised us to use that whenever we had trouble starting something.  It can be from  one person to another, it can be written on a note, a message on a phone, an internal thought, on a sign that a character reads, anything.

The setting: After Easter Break (assuming a Western Euro type HS).

The Action: A new kid arrives and is welcomed by the Emo-ish "B" crowd in art class, they are in 11th Grade and by this time most kids in their class know this is the group that will most likely have jobs after college so the plastics and bullies leave them alone and the smart Jocks consider them allies.

The Emos discovered their powers over X-mas and the "new" student is really an ancient sorcerer once called Ningishzidda when the planet was Lemuria.   He has been in Cryo stasis but his thralls awaken him early because if the Central High triad finds a fourth the Planet will shift it's axis at a financially bad time for the 12th planet's crossing due in the 22nd Century.

Scene: Lunch, the triad is discussing the new kid and if to befriend him.

I find the easiest way to start is to imagine the story as if you are watching it and then write down what you see. if you really get into your imagination it can stimulate your mind and help with blocks.i suffer from writers block alot and find that if youre thinking of the story like the reader it takes the pressure off and lets ideas flow. theres no pressure when your just seeing something or reading it. :)

well some people start it off like

"Bob!" suzie called from her bedroom. "BOB!" her brother came stumbing into her room, half asleep.

"What?" Bob asked and rubbed his eyes.

"Where is my red shirt? it was here when i went to bed! what did u do 2 it?" she asked and glared at her little brother.

"I didnt do anything to your shirt suzie. maybe it fell of the table and mom picked it up, thinking it was dirty." he said then turned on his heel and walked out of the room

Suzie ran down the stairs needing her favorite lucky t-shirt for her 1st day of school.
