  1. Try to go at a slower pace, it might even help you if someone is leading you and then gradually let the leadrope get longer, this gives you more confidence but you wouldnt be on your own if you felt scared.

  2. Dude, that was a very gracefull fall

Last year I recieved a reallly bad concusion from falling off my green horse. I landed right on my head and split my helmet open (I'm on my third charles owen helmet btw) and I was really scared to jump again.

I love eventing soo much and I was mad at myself for being scared. I just kept telling myself that all the jumps were boring and that I just had to go for it! Also, I practiced distances with my horse by just setting up ground poles, it worked wonders!

I have broken my arm falling off too, I know how scary it can be.

You'll be fine, you jut have to tell yourself that all the fear is nonsense and you'll get your confidence back in time.

  3. the first time i fell of i was learning to canter and my horse bucked me into a wall and i broke my and my arm in two places but i d=needed to get back to the barn because we were and an out door arena and i just got back on and walked back... when i got back from the hospital i asked my friend to lead me at a walk bareback ( she was leading her horse with just a halter and lead rope) around our indoor arena she did this until i was better and the casts were off then we trotted alittle until i was ready to go back to my lessons. but the hole time i thought about how much i loved riding and how my fall made me a better rider now i fall off about once a month because im always trying something new

  4. Confidence is tough after a fall. It can take a long time to gain back, it's not just an overnight thing.

Taking lessons would probably be a good step, with an instructor you like and trust. The only way you're going to gain your confidence back is to just get back up and do it. Maybe start with dressage and work your way up to jumping again.

It really is all up to you. You have to push past your limits little by little and realize that you're fine.

  5. The only way to do it, is to, mount up and go for it.

  6. Wow looks like a bad fall! I hope you read your answers to the other question you asked because it took me an hour to type my answer!!!!! Anyways, I think that confidence is the most important thing in horses. Its not easy. You should take lessons and gain your trust back into a horse. Work your way back to jumping or try some Dressage? Maybe do a nice slow learning pase like walk the trot for a while then canter then jump. Gaining trust is very important!!

Hope this helps you hop back into the saddle! Good Luck!!!!

  7. I know it can be scary... I had a jumping accident as well, my horse hit the top rail of an oxer (flipping forward...it wasnt a rotational fall.. thank god) an basically i flew off like outta a sling shot, breaking my collar bone. but... i was back on him riding around 3 weeks later (my mom about had a fit bc i was still wearing a sling lol)

Just take it slow, id work alot on the flat. taking dressage lessons will really help you with your jumping. once you gain back confidence on the flat, slowly start jumping lower jumps... it will all come back to you.

best of luck, and make sure you get back on!!! :)
