  1. I have to suggest looking at some sites to get fresh ideas my website has a lot of ideas including wood working(which I know is hard to find, I've been where you are and that is why I started my sites!)

Some of my favorite things to do are science experiments that involve colors.

For example to take a black permanent marker and draw a picture on a coffee filter or paper towel.

then place it in a cup of water and watch the colors run.

You can even do that with sweet tarts.

An activity or rather a set of activities you can use in more than one area would be to read a book that the children can act out in dramatic play like the three little pigs, they can also build the houses in the block area. Music they can do whistle while you work.

    Hope this helps a bit.

  2. art they love to draw with shaving cream carpentry they love to paint with water-moldable play dough-i had 3 daycares for 5 yrs goodluck

  3. Make it something in art. It is easy to get materials. Noodles, glue,scicors,papper,...............

    This all works!

  4. Have the children make their own musical instruments. Materials are: uncooked beans, margarine containers, toilet paper tubes, coloured paper, markers, glue, straws, pipe cleaners, cereal boxes ; small and large, tape

Have the children make shakers and drums. You will need to assist with taping the margarine containers closes so the beans don't fly out. The drums can be made from the margarine containers or the cereal boxes, or even better get large ice cream buckets. You can make the drumsticks out straws and toilet paper tubes. Or better yet if you can take the children out the day before for a nature walk and get them to pick their sticks from the hike. Afterward play some music!

    Good luck.

  5. Why don't you do something along the holiday season line? It would be super fast and easy.

Dramatic Play -- Christmas tree, boxes wrapped up as presents, bows, santa costumes, gingerbread house, cookies and cookie sheets, aprons, chef's hat, create a tub with dry ingredients to "make" gingerbread. It's a great sensory activity as well (flour, cloves, cinnamon, allspice)

Music -- Jingle bells, bell braclets, other instruments, posters with Christmas songs and pictures

Art -- Add glitter paint, fake snow, playdough with gingerbread boy cutters, snowflake cutters, christmas tree cutters, etc.

Blocks -- Create blocks out of boxes that you have wrapped like presents, blueprints, etc.

    Hope this can maybe help!

  6. on the music part what about head shoulders knees and toes. they are interactive with it and will keep their attn. on the art deal my dd just made some mittens and put them on a string and colored the mittens. on the modleable materials what about playdough and have them make snakes. not too hard just roll the dough. gl.

  7. Music: play song, "I Am a Pizza"

Dramatic Play: open a pizza store

Art: Sculpting out of pizza dough

    Carpentry/Blocks: build a pizza stand

    Moldable Materials: use pizza dough

Music: play song, "Uncle Noah's Ark"

Dramatic Play: build ark and herd animals into ark

Art: draw or paint animals going into ark

    Carpentry/Blocks: build an ark

Moldable materials: use dough to sculpt animals

Music: play song: "Down by the Bay"

Dramatic Play: dress up as or make puppets that represent characters in song and act it out

Art: make puppets or paper costumes of characters in song

Carpentry/Blocks: build a stage to act out song

Moldable Materials: sculpt characters out of clay

These are just some ideas. Hope you can use any of them.
