I have a 2004 suzuki z400 quadsport. I got the quad brand new four years ago. I have less than 50 hours of use on it. I have maintained the bike so well up until I was transfered last year. I have started the bike off and on thoughout the year but have done little riding accept around the block. Today I went to start it and of course the battery was dead. I got a new on and changed the oil. It took forever to get the bike started and once running it died out really quick with a backfire, I finally got it running and took it around the block and I ended up pushing it back. It sounds like the fuel is resticted but I dont know how to fix that, or is a carb problem, What should I do? The coolant is low could it be that not letting it keep running? Help

  1. You might have a combination of problems, i bet that the gas has went bad, you will need to drain it and put a new filter on it. And i bet that your carb is gummd up, you will need to pull it off and do a "boil" (soak it in carb cleaner)

  2. How long has the gas been sitting in the tank? THat would do it, too, don't you think?

  3. its either fuel or the plug since you started it regualrlyits probly the fuel but it could be a plug.
