I don't believe one grows older. I think that what happens early on in life is that at a certain age one stands still and stagnates.

I realize its a complicated quote with alot of different ways to interpret.

So please help me with what you would take it as.

:) thanks

  1. Another asker asked about why you can't grow if you stay where you are (or something like that).  I think that's what this is talking about.  You can't "grow" older.  You just stop growing.  When you stop growing, you "stand still and stagnate".

From dictionary.com (one of my FAVORITE sites): stagnate

    1. to cease to run or flow, as water, air, etc.

    2. to be or become stale or foul from standing, as a pool of water.

    3. to stop developing, growing, progressing, or advancing.

    4. to be or become sluggish and dull.

I try to live like the old saying, "You learn something new everyday."  The day I stop learning is the day I will die.
