In the chemical reaction Fe(s) + H2O(g) = Fe3O4(s) + H2(g) how many grams of Fe3O4 are produced from the reaction of 400 g of solid iron?

If you know the answer and hoe to do it, please help me.

  1. The balanced equation is :

    3 Fe + 4 H2O >> Fe3O4 + 4 H2

    Moles Fe = 400 g / 55.847 g/mol = 7.16

    the ratio between Fe and Fe3O4 is 3 : 1

    Moles Fe3O4 =7.16 x 1 / 3 =2.39

    Mass Fe3O4 = 2.39 mol x 231.541 g/mol = 553 g
