  1. Yes there are places to get help, there are no federal programs, all would be state and local programs.  You can contact your local office which handles Food Stamps and Medicare, if they are not the agency in your state they can refer you.  A word of warning from an experienced pre-school teacher, most of the programs which take these children have high teacher turn over and many behavioral problems among the kids.  My advice is to find a part time church program in your neighborhood.  They are often cheaper because of the time spent there and sometimes they have "scholarships" available.

  2. Which country do you live in.

Some countries have state owned day cares for people who cannot afford the normal rate....go to your local government office and ask

  3. Talk to the day care about sliding scale fee...or see if you can find a Day care that has a parent co-op...a lot of times if you are willing to work or help out at the center they will work out something.

See if your area had a "Child Care Council"  a lot of times they have programs that will help those who need help with fee's or can recommend a good day care that is more in your budget.

  4. In some cities there are programs that are run by the local goverment, and they are pretty good. You have to call maybe your local city elementary schools, they might give you information of where exactly these preschool and day care are located.

Once you locate them, go visit each one that is in the area where you live and apply to the one where you would like to send your child. You would have to supply proof of address and income, with your income proof, they decide whether you pay a small amount per week, or none at all.

I wish you lots of luck, I know is hard finding a place where you feel secure your child will be safe, but once you do, is easier on you and your child.
