Hi, is it correct to say: " I hope you will not end up like all these women"

I mean, is it correct to say " all these women" without OF?

Or should I say:

" I hope you will not end up like all of these women" ?

  1. "I hope you will not end up like all these women" is correct

  2. either one will do.

  3. I hope you will not end up like all these women"

  4. Either would be correct.  You're right, 'of all these women' is a prepositional phrase, 'of' being the preposition.  But in this case, you can leave the 'of' out and it is 'implied'.  Don't ask me why.  English is a strange language, isn't it?

  5. Either way. Anytime u need help with english just drop me an e-mail at                e14london@yahoo.co.uk

  6. God,i hope not !.

  7. The verb "hope" can be used to automatically mean the future. so, you don't need the word 'will' at all.  The word 'that' is also an "ellipse" that is not really necessary.

I hope you do not end up like all these women. (present tense)

THESE women are close to you, or can be pointed at.  THOSE women, are women that are not present during your conversation.

" I hope (that) you don't end up like those women (in the newspaper article).

  8. all of those women

  9. " I hope you will not end up like all these women"

is correct.  The "of" is not needed.

Actually, it would be more normal to say:

" I hope you will not end up like these women"  (without the "all")

  10. yeah its fine 2 say ..i hope you will not turn out like all of these other women..good luck x

  11. Both are correct.

But say, if you were in a room, and talking to someone, the top one would sound better.

But, both are  correct, and that's just what I think sounds right and when.

I think the bottom one is more posh / Grammatically correct, because it sounds like it is. :o

  12. I hope you will not end up like these women

  13. the latter is correct  or u can use "those women"...

  14. i'd just say ...like these women (i'm not a native speaker though)

  15. i think the correct way to say it would be

"i hope you will not end up like all those women."

  16. Hello

"I hope you will not end up like all of these women"  is the correct sentence however native speakers of English tend to be relaxed about this and may not include the "of" particularly in informal conversations .

hope this helps bye : )
