I'm quoting a book that is basically an anthology of different accounts over WWI. When I do quote, do I put the name of the person who complied them or the person who said the quote?

Thanks.

  1. I thought it was usually quotation marks "..." and a footnote stating the name of the first person who said it. You should also add that you found it in "book, author, year..." if you copy in full from there and if the author of the book is different from the person saying it.

For example, a quote by Churchill in a book by (made up author's name) A.B. Johnson, you would have to name both people: Churchill as the one who said it, Johnson as the author of the book where you found it.
