Okay so I want to buy a puppy online and the person told me to send a cashiers check but I told her I would feel more comfortable if I pay through Paypal she said Yes but she didn't know how to use it. I want to be protected like if I don't get the puppy of course I want my money back. The only two options I know is she can send me a request payment but that wouldn't protect me.. and me sending her money wouldn't protect me either. I know about the pay button but that only works on websites.. right? I am not sure about this so please if you know tell me. How can I send her money but make sure if I don't get what I want I can get my money back? Please help.

  1. I am not to sure about this all I know is that you should ask the person selling the dog what type of a refund policy she has.  if she will take the dog back and give you full refund than I would say trust her on it and pay her what ever method she wants.  But if you want to no for sure what method would be the best If you have concerns about not even getting the puppy maybe consider going to the local SPCA and getting a puppy from there.  If it is a special dog find a breeder for that dog and drive down to pick up the dog instead of buying it on line.

  2. Log on to the Pay Pal.com website.  Create an account by filling in all your relevant details.  Also look up the refund info.  It's quite simple. All you need is your primary address and a password to start off.

  3. Um I'm not sure if you can put animal on EBay but you can try and tell her to make an auction. I don't know any other way =/

  4. You send her the money through Paypal.  When you get to the section where it asks about the transaction, you click OTHER (not an auction through Ebay, etc).  There is an option where you can just indicate you are buying goods.  The little drop box goes down and shows you all the options.  You enter their email address of course to the person you are sending the payment to and they will verify that it's a Paypal member.  You go all the way through it, filling in the amount, etc.  I would advise using a credit card linked to your Paypal account (that's what I always use).  I feel it's an extra level of protection.  Like I said before, be sure you have seen plenty of photos of the dog, perhaps a video, and the veterinarian report.  The more info you have, the better off you will be if threes a dispute.  ALSO, be sure to list on the Paypal page what you are buying.  If you have to put it under the notes:

    Example:

This is for the purchase of the healthy Bull Terrier puppy such and such old, and give details about the transaction, delivery method, etc.

Your going on record about the transaction.  They are accepting your money on the basis of the agreed sale.  Now if they don't send the puppy or they send something OTHER than what you received in the photos, description, etc than you can file a dispute and you will get your money back.  They cannot rip you off.  Now Paypal doesn’t necessarily guarantee the quality of goods, that's why it's good to also do your own verifying (vet reports, etc).  They guarantee that you will receive what you paid for and that it will not be VASTLY different or misrepresented.  The seller is required to provide proof of delivery in the case of any dispute and a complete explanation.  I have in fact filed diputes even a bit outside their regulations and won because I presented a good case for being ripped off.
