I need help with S-video HELPPP

this is for my laptop

I have a toshiba laptop A105 series i think

i have a s-video cable connected with a audio y or w.e

so it is a S-video and 2 RCA audio cable for the TV

i connected everything perfectly

connect by VGA it works fine.

but when i try to connect to the TV with my S-Video n 2 audio RCA cable

NOTHING! the Audio works fine. i search through the channel and it landed on L2 (turn on by Tv Video) i hear the Audio PERFECT no problem

but the VIDEO does not show at all , nothing show up on the TV

WHY?

can someone help me with this?

why doesnt the TV show up anything but audio works fine?

my cable are

S-video (male) and RCA audio cable.

audio is no the biggest problem just the video what can i do

to show up what i want as my 2nd screen?

TV just blank. HELP!!!!!!!!!

i even tried restarting it just so it would get recognized but still no luk.

the 2 RCA works fine as audio, i hear w.e but i just cant see w.e

i plugged it in as it dont work

i set it as secondary monitor still nothing.

what am i suppose to do get something out?

my s-video and 2 audio rca are together.

  1. It is probably a setting in your laptop that is not turning on the s-video connector.

    Maybe hold down the function key (Fn) and press one of the F1, F2, F3 etc keys along the top.  There has to be a way to turn on the s-video connector on the laptop.

    If you have another TV around (or a friend with one) with a s-video input, you could try the laptop on that TV.  

    When troubleshooting, always try to make sure each component is doing what it should do before testing the whole system (in your case both the laptop and the TV).


  2. The default for the S-video output on a laptop is off. Don't randomly push F keys to toggle it on, that may cause your computer to lock or instigate sleep mode.  If you don't have the operating guide, then look for an icon that looks like a video monitor on or next to an F key. It is the F7 on my think pad. you might also try the "help" menu for your computer.
