Question:

I need help with a a somewhat silly question. Was the "We happy few, we band of brothers" quote in any movies?

The quote is originally from Shakespeare's Henry V. I feel like I heard in a somewhat recent film but may just be imagining it. So if anyone knows anything about this help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Just a note that the Playstation 3 ad doesn't quote the entire speech they just pick and choose certain phrases rather badly I thought to plug their product. Poor Shakespeare is

probably rolling over in his grave!

  2. Since you just asked this question I'm going to assume it's not from the movies/miniseries mentioned by the other guys but from the latest Playstation 3 commercial where the narrator goes through the whole speech. It starts out with a war game (I think Bad Company) and cycles through some new releases and ends on a war game.

  3. I think it's in Renaissance Man, starring Danny DeVito.  He plays a teacher who has to educate a group of US Army recruits and I remember one scene where they're out in the rain on patrol somewhere and he gets them to recite the speech from Henry V.

  4. It was in "To End All Wars" about a prison camp in WW2 as well.  Obscure reference, but the japanese guards let them study, and they even graduated from "Jungle University."

Also, the HBO miniseries 'Band of Brothers' makes reference to it as well.
