I need help with a biz idea?

Question

I want to start an advertisment biz for companies.

My plans are to park the car in a high traffic area and put ad's all over it from various companies.

my questions are:

is this legal in most places in NYC? (the local police station said it was ok)

how much should i charge?day ,monthly , etc?

is it a good idea?

and how would i get the companies to contact me for ad's?

please give me any advice you can pull up.

As I do not live in NY NY I can not tell you how much to charge, but I can give you an idea as to how to find out. Call a few Taxi cab companies and ask how much they would charge you to place a sign on the back of one of their cabs. Don't take this the wrong way but you are going to have to get up off of your duff and call around to a bunch of businesses to find folks to advertise on your vehicle. Is it a good idea? The answer is yes, but you might want to tweak it a little bit. This is already available on the backs of Taxis and buses so I will suggest that you do something a little bit different. Find a late 1920s or 1930s truck finish the out side of the truck and offer the signs on the side of the truck as advertising space. Think about this as when ever you see a really old car or truck you always look and maybe even look more that a little, guess what so does everyone else. While they are looking at the truck they are looking at the advertisment that is on the side of it. If you do this I would add 20% more that the cab company.
